Trends Thursday: Color Goes POP!

Everyone loves a little pop of color. Color makes you smile, laugh, get excited! So it’s obvious that this new wedding trend is a great one!

This year you will be sure to see the crisp classic all white wedding with a beautiful twist. That twist is a Pop, Bing, Bang of color!

Currently several of my 2017 couples are doing just this and let me tell you I can not wait to share the pictures with you because it will be GORGEOUS!

One of the best pops of color to really tie together the crisp, clean, and classy look is green.  When you use green as your color pop you are tying in the go-to color of your floral arrangement, which you are already spending money on! With that you could also do greenery on each table setting and Bam, you are all done with your pop and it is super classy with just the right amount of pop!  Your guests will have their breath taken away by the beauty of it all!

Now there are definitely ways that you can go wrong with this trend, like adding too many different color pops or just going a little to cray-cray and then you lose track of the vision you were going for.

Are you thinking of going with this trend for you upcoming wedding? Did you already use this trend for a wedding or event? Or did you attend a wedding or event that did? Tell us all about it and, of course, we love pictures!

More questions on how to achieve this look on your dime? Just ask we are always happy to chat!

Tips Tuesday: Budget’s got you like Whoa?!

Have fun with your stamp choice!
We love these pretty bloom stamps!
Let’s face it, budgets can be terrifying and something you just don’t even want to deal with especially when planning your dream wedding. We get it. No one really likes to think about not being able to have the wedding they have been dreaming of all because of a budget.

However, I’m all about doing the budget first just to get it out of the way.  Then you can start planning on a realistic budget, that won’t make you eat Ramen for the next year, as you plan. Once you actually get down and do it, it’s truly not nearly as bad as you think and a lot of couples are pleasantly surprised.

See that ocean we love so much pops
up everywhere <3
Budgets allow you to have a starting point and a great layout of every possible expense you might encounter. Budgets are truly very valuable in the planning process and it almost gives you more motivation to come in under budget!

Pssssst! Check out these top budget items couples often forget!
1. Postage
2. Wedding bands
3. Vendor tips

Everyone loves a little
"cup noodles" every now and then!
I’m a firm believer that you can have the day you have been dreaming of on the budget you have. It all comes down to being chic on the cheap and putting the time into finding the best vendors that are willing to work with you to create your vision with your budget. (Look out for another Tips Tuesday with more on finding vendors within your budget)

Budgets allow you to prioritize areas that you are firm on and areas that you realize you can eliminate or compromise on. They also let you set realistic savings goals.  When you know what you need to save, it’s a lot easier to manage and come up with a plan that will still allow for date nights and fun with the girls because without that you will feel like you’re in spending jail and that will just make you miserable!

Have questions about where to start or how to create the best budget possible? Just ask, we are here for you!

A: Brides have grown up dreaming of this day, so it needs to be absolutely perfect. We want our brides and their wedding party to be able to sit back, relax, and get pampered. We love making our clients feel confident and looking beautiful when we are done. Doing wedding hair is the final touch on all the planning! We love watching our creativity come alive!

Q: Do you have a fave wedding that stands out to you?

A: Way too many to list :)

Q: What is your fave trend right now?
A: Formal used to be all about polished styles and having every hair in place. Lately, dressy hairstyles are all about tousled and twisted locks.

Q: What's one thing you wish couples understood about your services/ products?
A: Hair textures, lengths, colors etc all play a huge role with your up-do. We can't always give you "the exact up-do" in the picture but surely can make it your own...

Thank you so much Alea for chatting with us and getting these great tips out there!  You are always fab and definitely one of our faves!!  We hope to catch up with you at lots of weddings this season!

So a little about me!
My name is Kaleena and I live in Concord NH with my family where I was born and raised. I absolutely love New England and our beautiful seasons. My favorite season is summer.  I love the warmth! You will soon find out throughout this blog that the ocean is my happy place! As a child, I grew up vacationing on Short Sands in York, Maine and as an adult I frequent Long Sands. Although I love going up and spending the day on the beach in the summer, my favorite time to visit is at the start of the off-season.  Going to the coast, on a perfect fall day, for a beautiful walk gives my heart and soul all the feels. I’m sure you will see more of my ocean adventures here soon!

My aunt and I at one of my family's epic parties
The event industry has been screaming my name from a very young age! Growing up, my family was known for the parties we threw, they were always a big to do. Catered food, tents, and harpists for a Saturday afternoon party was sometimes over the top but I loved them all. My family was heavily involved with the church and my dad would organize all the parish events and I would always be right by his side from set up to break down.

However, at that young age I never realized this could be a career choice. So I went on in life thinking I would become a police officer.  I took college courses in high school to start my career down that path. It wasn’t until 3 days before I was supposed to start my college career in Criminal Justice that I realized that field just wasn’t the right fit for me. I looked at what I really enjoyed in life and that was business and events! So I changed my course load to hospitality and it was the best decision I could have ever made. I blossomed in all my classes and used what I was learning at the job I was currently working at.  I truly believe everyone should spend their life doing the things that make them happy! Do what you love, love what you do!

Once I was finished with the certificate program I asked to take over the events at my current job and I was given a promotion. I was able to increase their rental revenue by 83% in the first year in that position. I knew I would eventually want to go out on my own but I wanted to learn more about the rental industry.  So, after 5 years, I took a job with Exeter Events & Tents. I loved learning the back end of rentals and working with both the corporate clients but also the wedding couples.

I quickly realized I loved everything about weddings! I assisted with a wedding for a good friend and after that I was hooked. Everything about the whole process captured me. From the vendor meetings, to the fine décor details, the timeline, set up, breakdown and everything in between I LOVED! After being in the industry for almost 10 years and doing it on my own for 5 years, weddings have a very special spot in my heart. Each couple I work with becomes a part of my family and I am always thankful that they have trusted me and allowed me to be such a big part of their special day. I still get teary-eyed during the vows when I can feel the love bursting and that is the best feeling, being able to see two people who are madly in love say “I do”.

I am a GOAL DIGGER and love to set goals and conquer them. It’s really important for me to always be working towards my goals and once they are achieved to set bigger and better ones. Can you guess one of my current goals?! Start blogging on the regular! I love reading blogs and have been after this for some time but I am finally fully committing myself to it and it has made it onto my 2017 goals to conquer.  So lets do this!
